Saturday evening marked the first Wine Walk of 2012 in the River Market. Participants had the opportunity to buy a bracelet for just $15 and then proceed to sample different wines at many local galleries, restaurants and businesses. It was a beautiful evening to spend in the River Market, and once the wine started flowing, the party started. Proceeds from the event went towards the New Roots for Refugees project, which helps refugees from around the world start and maintain their own small farm in the area. A noble enterprise which has helped hundreds of people find a peaceful and productive life away from the strife which drove them from their home countries.
There will be three more Wine Walks of 2012, with the next one coming on July 21st. If you are looking for a classy evening and an opportunity to explore the funky tranquility of the river market with a cup of wine in your hand, then make sure you attend next month's event.
